1995年12月8日《重庆晚报》第一版有条标题为“本报扩为16版 解放碑下听意见 十日晚本报同仁现场垂询”。内容是该报正副总编、各部门负责人就扩版问题征求读者意见。 “垂询”,专指上对下有所询问。比如领导有什么问题或关注什么事情,可以垂询下属。“正副总编、各部门负责人”可以在本社、本部之内“垂询”。报纸与读者不是上下级关系,报社老总对读者是没有资格垂询的。这里用“征询”为宜。
