This paper reports two cases of early childhood infection of E. coli O157, including 1 case of hemolytic uremic syndrome, and 2 cases had had contact with farm animals 1 week before the illness. A 2-year-old boy developed symptoms of severe blood-borne diarrhea, vomiting and stomachache following her parents’ arrival at a farm 9 days before the onset of illness. A few days later, no complications. Toxicogenic E. coli (VTEC) O157 phage 2 (PT2) and endotoxin producing type 2 (VT2) were isolated from 1 fecal sample of children.
