Stephen Owen is a professor of two department at East Asian Department and Department of Comparative Literature at Harvard University. Although his compositions always contain “comparative literature”, he rarely sells comparative literature. Mi-Lou: Poetry and the Labyrinth of Desire, Harvard University Press, 1989) is by far the only one. In this book, he pointed out that poetry exists in a certain historical context, but at the same time, history has certain degree of freedom, which provides the possibility for comparative literature.
