小麦沟播是我国北方广大农民长期同干旱作斗争中创造的宝贵经验。据研究小麦沟播具有抗旱保苗抗盐碱,防冻害防风蚀,防倒伏和增产效果,特别是中低产水平的瘠薄旱地和盐碱地其增产效果十分显著。在华北和西北地区普遍降水不足,雨养农业占有相当大的比重。据不完全统计,适于推广小麦沟播的面积在5600万亩以上,再加上其他旱播作物,适于沟播的面积还要大得多。在可预计的将来在上述地区是不可能用大规模的工程措施来改善缺水现状的。因此,沟播作为一种适应性的技术措施,宜在华北,西北地区大力推广。
