This report describes the possibility of transmitting 19.2 KBS rate data over a 4B line or TAT-2 submarine cable. The study was conducted under the guidance of the DCA-69 contract. The technique used in this study is a double band, quadrature suppressed carrier, with 16 discrete levels of amplitude modulation. Achieve this work includes the design and production of a laboratory test model and test the finished model with a variety of simulated line conditions. The typical result obtained in this study is that the bit error rate of 14,400 bits is 5 × 10 ~ (-3) when the delay of the signal path is simulated and the SNR is 30dB. The 19.2 kilobit transmission was unsuccessful, but further research is needed. At the same time, this report describes the transmission of a 93.6 KBS bit error rate of 1 × 10 -5 and a bit error rate of 6 × 10 -3 14.4KBS is possible.
