Read his article, you can clearly feel the context of China’s development. As a trans-generation writer, his works embody the tremendous changes in the times and cultural changes. From the influence of Russian literature during the early days of his creation to that of the early 1980s, the process of his acceptance of foreign literature mainly followed the course of China’s reform and opening up. This article focuses on the influence of the literary schools and writers in Europe and the United States influenced by the later works of Wang Meng in the comparative literature.
