细菌荚膜多糖(CP)既是毒力因子又是保护性抗原。单价或多价CP菌苗已显示出能有效诱导保护性免疫,但纯化的CP有其局限性,即其属T细胞非依赖性抗原,在2岁以下儿童及老人中的免疫原性弱,而结合菌苗可克服上述局限性。人们发现当以多价多糖结合菌苗配方接种时,各结合菌苗的免疫原性降低,说明存在表位抑制现象,为此作者在动物中研究了联合的多糖结合菌苗的干扰现象。
Bacterial capsular polysaccharide (CP) is both a virulence factor and a protective antigen. Monovalent or multivalent CP vaccines have been shown to be effective in inducing protective immunity, but purified CP has its limitations, namely that it is a T cell-independent antigen that is weakly immunogenic in children under 2 years of age and in the elderly, The combination of vaccine can overcome the above limitations. It has been found that the immunogenicity of each of the combined vaccines decreases when immunized with the multivalent polysaccharide conjugate vaccine formulation, indicating the presence of epitope suppression and for this reason the authors studied the interference of the combined polysaccharide-conjugated vaccine in animals.
