本专利的详细说明本发明是关于在卤素源和碳质物存在的情况下,将金属源加热处理制成纤维状金属的改进方法。这里所谓的纤维状金属是指普通金属须晶、纤维金属等的总称,例如呈现为粗细从数微米到数十微米,长度从数十微米到数千微米的针状或者纤维状的金属。近来,这样的纤维状金属作为纤维冶金用,补强材料用等各种用途的特殊金属材料,正引起人们的注视。
Detailed Description of the Invention The present invention is an improved method for heat treating a metal source to produce a fibrous metal in the presence of a source of halogen and carbonaceous matter. The term “fibrous metal” as used herein refers to general metal whiskers, fibrous metals and the like, and is exemplified by acicular or fibrous metal having a thickness of several micrometers to several tens of micrometers and a length of several tens of micrometers to thousands of micrometers. Recently, such a fibrous metal is attracting attention as a special metal material for various uses, such as a fiber metallurgy and a reinforcement material.
