This paper mainly compares the metaphorical metaphorical changes in the love poems between China and Britain and finds that the metaphorical metaphors in the Chinese and English poetry have both commonalities and differences, such as metonymy “physiological response to love ” and metaphor “Love is a plant” “The object of love is food ” is common in both China and the United Kingdom, and the metaphor “Love is the moon ” and “Love is the war ” are uniquely Chinese and English. The common ground of metaphor is derived from the similar experience of people, but the difference mainly depends on different environmental, social and cultural factors.
