桑干河盆地的“泥河湾层”,是我国北方早更新世的标准地层之一。过去对它的研究,主要是在盆地东部边缘露头区的泥河湾—红崖村一带;而对盆地内广大的覆盖地区,工作很少。近年来,我队对盆地西部地区的地震勘探和钻探工作证明,在东起阳原县、蔚县,西至大同市、朔县的广大范围内,“泥河湾层”普遍发育,厚约300~1,100米(图1)。本文侧重于井下钻遇地层的岩性、岩相特征和所包含的软体、微体古生物化石,对“泥河湾层”的
The Sinko Bay layer of the Sangganhe Basin is one of the standard strata of the Early Pleistocene in the north of China. In the past, its research was mainly carried out in the area of Niya Cliff in the outskirts of the basin on the outskirts of the eastern part of the basin. Few jobs were done in the vast area covered by the basin.
