为满足香港与澳门、珠三角东西两岸之间的文化、经济发展的需要,迫切要建设跨珠江口门到门的陆上通道。鉴于笔者曾建议的港珠澳大桥双丫方案(一桥通港深珠澳四地的方案)未被港澳主流方面所接纳,而沿海高速公路广东段属内地干线公路,过境车辆不便进出港澳,否则10余万辆过境车会给港澳带来尾气、噪音污染和治安等一系列问题,尤其是车辆途经东涌一带,空气污染已超标,不宜再增加大量过境车。
To meet the needs of cultural and economic development between Hong Kong, Macao and the Pearl River Delta between the east and the west, it is imperative to build an on-land channel across the Pearl River. In view of the proposal of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Shuangyao scheme (one scheme for Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Macau) not accepted by the mainstream of Hong Kong and Maucao, and the Guangdong section of Coastal Expressway is a trunk road in the Mainland, Otherwise, more than 100 000 cross-boundary vehicles will bring a series of problems to Hong Kong and Macao such as tail gas, noise pollution and law and order. In particular, vehicles passing the Tung Chung area have exceeded the air pollution standards and should not be allowed to increase the number of cross-boundary vehicles.
