Svendsen recently reviewed the separation of different types of alkaloids by the TLC method. For the quantitative determination of tropane and ergot alkaloids in plants, the TLC method is generally powerless. Therefore, the application of pressurized-flow planar chromatography (FFPC) technology is necessary.
