在英语中,英语词汇数量很大,英语近义词就占了总数量的很大比例。在中国,传统的学习英语近义词用法主要依靠一些权威的字典对英语近义词的解释。在某种程度上,传统的这种辨析近义词的方法很难使学习者真正能辨析一对近义动词。然而,近年来,随着语料库语言学的发展,基于语料库的方法研究一对近义动词的用法能给学习者提供客观的数据和令人信服的结果。本文基于语料库的方法,研究近义动词“Require”和“Request”的语域分布、搭配、类联接,并且基于语料库对比研究的方法可以对我们传统的教学和学习方法起到很大的作用。
In English, there are a large number of English vocabulary words, and English synonyms use a large proportion of the total number. In China, the traditional use of synonyms in learning English mainly relies on the interpretation of English synonyms by some authoritative dictionaries. To a certain extent, the traditional method of distinguishing near-sense words can hardly enable learners to truly distinguish a pair of near-meaning verbs. However, in recent years, with the development of corpus linguistics, a corpus-based approach to study the use of a pair of near-meaning verbs can provide learners with objective data and convincing results. In this paper, based on the corpus method, the register distributions, collocations, and class connections of the near-meaning verbs “Require” and “Request” are studied, and the method based on corpus comparative study can play a very important role in our traditional teaching and learning methods.
