Southern Metropolis Daily is one of the newspapers owned by Nanfang Daily Newspaper Group, which was formally founded in 1997 and is a comprehensive daily newspaper set up by the mainstream population in China’s richest PRD region. Southern Metropolis Daily reported an average of 96 daily versions, with an average daily circulation of more than 1.41 million. In 2002, its advertising amounted to 820 million yuan. In the first half of 2003, its advertising volume was 513 million, an increase of 80% over the same period of last year.
