Radiofrequency ablation (RF) has been a breakthrough in the application of arrhythmia, especially for atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) has become a radical treatment, but there are still some shortcomings. Cryoablation is a new technique for the treatment of AVNRT, with lower complications, less tissue damage and a smaller risk of complete atrioventricular block, making up for the lack of RF. At present, cryoablation has proven to be at least as safe and effective as RF in a large number of patients. The RF and cryoablation AVNRT principle and clinical efficacy are reviewed, focusing on the shortcomings of RF and the advantages of cryoablation.
