一、前言简·奥斯丁作为英国文学史上杰出的现实主义小说家,其出版的第一部小说《理智与情感》打破了从18世纪70年代到19世纪前十年英国小说青黄不接的局面。在该部小说中,简·奥斯丁运用讽刺手法替代了正面说教。本文将结合小说中的部分角色浅析其讽刺艺术。简·奥斯丁所处的年代,正是英国现实主义传统几乎完全被假浪漫主义所取代的时期。而《理智与情感》的诞生打破了矫揉造作的感伤派小说独霸文坛
I. INTRODUCTION Jane Austen, an outstanding realistic novelist in the history of British literature, published the first novel, Sense and Sensibility, which broke the unwarranted situation of British novels from the 1870s to the first decade of the 19th century. In the novel, Jane Austen used satire instead of positive preaching. This article will analyze the satirical art in connection with some of the characters in the novel. The era in which Jane Austen lived was precisely the time when the British realist tradition was almost completely replaced by fake romanticism. The birth of “Sense and Sensibility” broke the sentimentalist fictional novel that dominated the literary creation
