科技文献出版社成立于1973年，隶属于国家科学技术部，是国家中央一级综合性科学技术出版单位。出版社成立以来，出版了大量的优秀图书，为发展国家经济作出了积极的贡献。特别是近3年，实行企业化管理后，科技文献出版社在社长王琦的带领下，出版图书500余种，其中再版图书占3／5，新版图书占2／5，形成了以医学和农业图书为主、以文化教育图书为辅的规模经营模式，出版周期平均3个月，年图书发行码洋7000万～8000万元。在出版业界已产生了一定的影响。为此，本刊记者约请科技文献出版社社长王琦谈谈这方面的经验和做法。
