明末清初,阮大铖以其十余种剧作别树一帜,为当时剧坛不可忽视之健将。不过由于其行迹低劣,影响了人们对他艺术创作的评价。阮氏的剧作以情节奇巧、构思缜密著名,时人称许它们:“文笋斗缝,巧轴转关,石破天来,峰穷境出。”可谓中国古典“佳构剧”的代表。检视留传至今的石巢四种传奇,这些剧本在情节构造的技巧方面仍有许多需要仔细研究之处,可供今天的编剧家们借鉴。
