In the middle of the last Lent Term, that was from January 17 to March 17, I noticed there were many different posters about May Balls. It seemed to me that more than half of the 31 Colleges in the University of Cambridge would host May Balls, with prices ranging from around (?) 80 to (?)160. “Oh, it is so expensive! It cannot be simply a usual ball held in May. Shall I buy a ticket to any of the May Balls?” With this in my mind, I decided to ask my good friend Tina more about it. Tina has always been very helpful to me in understanding Cambridge traditions, and she never fails to solve my puzzles.
