我国公路建设事业迅速发展,道路通车里程逐年增加,随着公路使用年限的延伸,在大自然和行车的作用下,加速了道路的各种病害,大大缩短了维修养护的间隔时间,道路养护、改造任务也越来越重。以往传统的养护方法在旧路面破损、基层强度不足,需补强改善时,是将旧沥青路面和旧结构层全部挖除,然后再重新做基层和面层,这样不仅工程造价较高、施工工期较长、污染环境、并且需要长时间中断交通,给行使车辆和行人的通行带来极大的不便。为解决现有传统养护改建施工中存在的实际问题,国内外同行经过多年的研究实践,使公路养护改建工作发生了重大变革,拼弃了传统工艺,采用先进的就地冷再生技术,为公路改扩建及日常养护工作开辟了一个新的领域。
