In recent years, with the continuous improvement of production level, the amount of chemical fertilizers applied to farmland has been continuously increasing, but the utilization rate of chemical fertilizers, especially nitrogen fertilizer, has been declining continuously. In the economically developed areas in the south, excessive application of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizer has become one of the important reasons for water pollution. Increasing the yield of cultivated land and the utilization of chemical fertilizers are very important to ensure the sustainable development of agriculture in our country. In order to improve the utilization of chemical fertilizers, we conducted a pilot study on the nitrogen application rate of late japonica rice in 1997 and 1998 for two consecutive years. The test results are summarized below. A test method The experiment was carried out in Ningbo Agricultural Institute test site, soil bruising, medium fertility. In 1997, six fertilization levels were set up: 0 kg of nitrogen, 7.5 kg per 667 m2,
