The 1964 Olympic Games are held in Tokyo, the 2008 Olympic Games are hosted by Beijing, the Expo in 1970 is held in Osaka, and the 2010 World Expo is held in Shanghai. As the two landmark events in representing the country’s strength and the rapid economic development, the time difference between China and Japan coincides with about 40 years. One is Asia’s earliest industrialized countries and the second is now the world’s second largest economy. The time lag in these major events reflects to some extent the gap between the socio-economic development levels of the two countries. The world has entered the information age. Both China and Japan in the global economy
