In October 2013, an anonymous hero Memorial Square was completed in Beijing’s Xishan National Forest Park. The square was built to commemorate the large number of hidden frontless heroes sacrificed to Taiwan in the 1950s for the unification of the country and the people’s liberation cause. In the early 1950s, underground island organizations in Taiwan were severely damaged and a large number of underground party members were arrested and killed. These loyal, die-hard heroes, their names are unknown, but their merits forever.
