文章运用Helpman等(2004)的分析框架考察了随着产品异质行业跨国公司目标市场定位的变动,不同细分市场上跨国公司均衡数量调整的变动规律。文章根据理论分析得出的假设为:从低端细分市场到高端细分市场,跨国公司数量调整随着目标消费者收入水平的增加呈现先上升后下降的趋势;同时,随着目标消费者收入水平的变动,以直接投资方式进入的跨国公司数量调整比以出口方式进入的跨国公司数量调整更敏感。文章利用中国汽车市场2009年数据对理论假设进行了经验检验,经验结果证明理论假设成立。
The article uses the analysis framework of Helpman et al. (2004) to examine the changes of equilibrium quantity adjustment of multinational corporations in different market segments with the change of target market position of multinationals in heterogeneous industries. According to the theoretical analysis, the article assumes that: from the low-end market segment to the high-end segment market, the number adjustment of multinational corporations (MNCs) tends to increase and then decrease with the increase of the target consumers’ income level; at the same time, as the target consumers The change of income level is more sensitive to the adjustment of the number of transnational corporations that entered by direct investment than the number of transnational corporations that entered by way of exportation. The article uses the 2009 data of China’s automobile market to test the theoretical assumptions, and the empirical results show that the theoretical assumptions are established.
