Democracy and compliance treats democracies as more inclined to comply with international agreements than non-democracies. This paper examines the causal logic from five aspects: preference stability problem, public influence problem, collective action problem, non-democratic state restriction and transparency, and then concludes that the type and behavior of democratic government There is no exact causal relationship between. Existing empirical studies support the theoretical hypothesis of democratic compliance, most probably because the sample data it chooses exactly matches the specific conditions under which its causal logic works. For researchers, to discuss and clarify the specific conditions of its role, will be the future direction of the study.
