1952年6月19日,乌鲁木齐市在全疆各地州市中第一个成立了工生防疫站。半个多世纪以来,在党和政府的领导和重视下,乌鲁木齐市卫生防疫站从小到大,逐步发展,经历了艰苦发展的历程,工作用房从最初不到200m2的车马店发展到今天5000m2的综合业务大楼,3400m2的检验楼,仪器设备从最初一台显微镜、一台血压计发展到今天40多台精密仪器,固定资产达2200多万元。科室设置从4个股发展到11个业务科室和4个职能科室,两个直属卫生防疫分站,职工从最初20人发展到今天在职职工160人,其中业务人员占87％以上,大专以上学历119名,副主任医师以上职称14名,中级职称70名。50名离退休职工为边疆卫生防疫事业奉献毕生,其业绩永载史册。市辖7区1县卫生防疫站同样经历了坎坷的发展历程,目前各区(县)站在职职工375名,工作用房达12000万m2,仪器设备340万元。全市有各级地段医院48家,全市企事业单位、街道办事处、乡(镇)卫生院设预防保健专(兼)职人员共500人,逐步健全的预防保健三级网在预防和控制全市各类传染病中发挥了巨大作用。

The health and epidemic prevention stations in the 7 districts and 1 county under the jurisdiction of the city also experienced a bumpy development. At present, all districts (counties) have 375 employees, work houses of 120 million m2, and equipment and equipment of 3.4 million yuan. There are 48 hospitals at all levels in the city. There are 500 preventive and healthcare (part-time) employees in the city’s enterprises, sub-district offices, and township (town) health centers. Gradually improved three-level networks of prevention and health prevention are used to prevent and control the city. Various types of infectious diseases have played a huge role.
