2006年4月27日,美国MPEG专利技术管理公司(英文简称MPEG LA)与中国电子音响工业协会及中国机电进出口商会签署了“MPEG-2专利联合许可”谅解备忘录,此后每年MPEG LA将对中国每台DVD收取2．5美元的专利费,截至目前,中国每生产一台DVD要交纳的专利费已超20美元,每台DVD的利润几乎没有了。对此,业内专家纷纷发出慨叹,中国的DVD产业究竟该何去何从,是否已经走到了消亡的边缘?——编者
On April 27, 2006, the MPEG Patent Management Company of the United States (MPEG LA) signed a memorandum of understanding with the China Audio Acoustics Industry Association and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Mechatronics to jointly license the MPEG-2 Patent. From then on, Each DVD in China charges US $ 2.5. As of now, the patent fee that China has to pay for producing one DVD has exceeded US $ 20. There is almost no profit for each DVD. In response, industry experts have lamented, whether the Chinese DVD industry, where to go, whether it has come to the verge of extinction?
