Objective To investigate the detection and clinical significance of CD4 + CD25high FOXP3 + regulatory T cells (Tregs) in peripheral blood of patients with gastric cancer. Methods Sixty gastric cancer patients (gastric cancer group) and 60 healthy volunteers (healthy control group) were selected. The levels of CD4 + CD25high FOXP3 + Treg cells, CD4 + CD25highT cells and CD4 + T cells in peripheral blood were detected by flow cytometry. The levels of interleukin 10 (IL-10) and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) in peripheral blood were detected by the method of immunosorbent assay. Results Compared with the healthy control group, the proportion of CD4 + CD25high FOXP3 + Treg cells and CD4 + CD25highT cells in the peripheral blood of patients with gastric cancer increased, the concentrations of IL-10 and TGF-β1 increased, the differences were statistically significant (all P <0.05) . Conclusion CD4 + CD25high FOXP3 + Treg cells may be closely related to the occurrence and development of gastric cancer, providing new ideas for the immunotherapy of gastric cancer.
