攀钢炼铁厂于1989年引进武汉冶金建筑研究所的“冷风均匀配气”专利技术,设计和结构制作均由建研所负责。该装置于1990年7月在攀钢3号高炉热风炉上安装并投入使用。热风炉为内燃式,燃烧室为圆形,格子砖为五孔砖,炉篦子支柱共22根,冷风由烟道侧单股通道进入蓄热室。冷风均匀配气装置共设导向板11块,以冷风入口中心为轴线呈对称布置,固定装置由两个半圆箍组成。安装前先将导向板和连接板在炉外加工制作好,在炉内安装时将导向板和固定箍焊牢,固定箍用螺栓围固在热风炉每根炉篦子支柱上。
