我县地处秦岭南麓的高寒山区,种植玉米杂交种产量不稳定,影响杂交玉米的推广。由于高寒山区气候条件特殊,一般玉米杂交种或是发病严重,或是不能成熟,急需培育出适应高寒山区种植的玉米杂交种。根据这个育种目标,我们培育出了抗病、早熟、矮秆玉米杂交种——洛单5号。实践表明,这是一个比较适宜高寒山区种植的杂交种。洛单5号是我所1975年用双704①—2—1作母本,单731、2—1—3作父本,杂交选育而成的。特征特性:株高一般的为170厘米左右,在各种不同土壤、水肥、气候条件下春、夏播,株高变动在144—200厘米之间。株型紧凑。地
