矢量网络分析仪属于台式仪器中性能最高和价位亦高的仪器,能够生产矢量网络分析仪的仪器公司也屈指可数,产品种类齐全的实际上只有Agilent和Anritsu两家,可见矢量网络分析仪的生产确有相当难度。网络特性测量又是电路设计不可缺少的参数,晶体管往往用不同的四端网络等效参数来代表,早期采用阻抗参数,例如至今仍然通用的是输入阻抗和输出阻抗,接着又有纳导参数、混合参数,后来最通用的是S参数,现在矢量网络分析仪都有S参数的测量
