本文结合５０年代以来图书馆自动化发展的历程，阐述了现代电子技术的发展对信息载体和信息传递所产生的影响，特别是在图书收藏方式和借阅方式上的变革。展望“电子出版物”、“电子图书馆”和“虚拟图书馆”的前景。分析了“虚拟化”在联机网络上出现负荷过重的问题，指出图书馆走上“信息高速公路”的必然趋势。文中概述了当前我国图书馆自动化发展的成就和存在的不足，从宏观角度提出五条供思考的对策：确立现代化管理思想；加快书目资源数据库和网络的建设；建立适应图书馆自动化需要的专业队伍；增加图书馆自动化建设资金的投放；最后，加强统一领导，创造良好的环境支持。
Based on the development of library automation since the 1950s, this paper expounds the influence of the development of modern electronic technology on the information carrier and information transmission, especially the changes in the methods of library collection and borrowing. This paper analyzes the problem of “overloading” of “virtualization” on the online network and points out the inevitable trend of the library going onto the “information superhighway.” This article summarizes the achievements and shortcomings of the current automated library development in our country. From the macro perspective, it proposes five countermeasures for thinking: to establish the modern management thinking; to speed up the construction of the database and network of bibliographic resources; to establish a professional team that meets the automation needs of the library; Increase the financing of library automation construction; finally, strengthen unified leadership and create good environmental support.
