敖汉旗地处昭盟南部丘陵山区,土地广阔,农作物播种面积220万亩,无霜期130天左右,年降雨量350～400毫米。农牧业人口45万8千多人,是个气候比较干旱、土质比较瘠薄、地多人少的地区。近年来,在抓好粮食生产的同时,积极发展了向日葵生产。通过不断总结经验,产量不断提高,播种面积迅速扩大。1975年试种1,181亩,国家收子68,777斤;1976年扩大到25,900亩,国家收子106万余斤;1977年发展到69,000
Aohanqi is located in the southern hills of Zhao League, with vast land, crop area of 220 mu, frost-free period of about 130 days and annual rainfall of 350 to 400 mm. The population of agriculture and animal husbandry is more than 458,000. It is a relatively arid climate with relatively poor soil quality and little land.
