After the Anglo-Saxons gradually converted to Christianity in the 7th century, the Germanic cultural heritage still had a strong influence in England. Old English literature, including religious literature, prominently reflects this influence. The ancient English poem “Genesis” is based on the “Bible. Genesis” is an important religious poem based on the promotion of Christian thought, but the poet made no changes to the story of the Bible in the details of additions and deletions, plotting and characterization A considerable degree of rewriting, consciously and unconsciously expressed a variety of Germanic values. The rewriting of the poets shows that the Germanic cultural tradition has infiltrated the mainstream ideology and is in a dynamic relationship with the dominant Christian thought in the coexistence and integration.
