常临币是江苏常州地方代用币的简称。抗日战争初期,地处苏南沦陷区的常州地区,普遍出现了一种标明有“临时流通”字样的货币代用品,有铜元、筹牌、纸币等多种类型。其图文并茂的地方特色和高超精湛的制作工艺,使其具有很高的收藏价值。常临币原料开始以竹骨等为主,后来逐渐用清末铜元打制,也有的用铜元熔铸成条,再打制成筹码型。从现存实物考证,只有少数临时流通币标注有年份。目前现
