鸦片战争以后,宁波作为“五口通商条约口岸”之一于1844年1月1日开埠,江北岸被划为商埠区和外国人通商留居地。各国相继在这里修建了领事馆、银行、教堂、海关、巡捕房以及住宅等。建筑活动的发展清晰地反映了城市历史的发展进程以及人们对西方文化、西方近代生活方式的接受过程,建筑可以克隆,而文化无以复制,宁波近代外廊式建筑形成了其自己独有的特色。
After the Opium War, Ningbo as one of the “five treaty ports” opened on January 1, 1844, and the north bank of the river was designated as a merchant port area and a foreigner’s commercial residence. Countries have successively built consulates, banks, churches, customs, police brigade and residential buildings here. The development of architectural activities clearly reflects the historical process of urban development and the acceptance process of western culture and modern western life style. The building can be cloned and the culture can not be copied. The modern foreign porch building in Ningbo has formed its own unique Features.
