老实说,我没想到当众多新闻单位同时报道同一位典型人物的时候,在我们的新闻摄影方面能有什么大的作为。因为典型人物的感人事迹往往早发生过了,轮到宣传的时候,从四面八方飘然而至的摄影记者们只好靠摆拍的几张照片来满足需要。这种照片,美则美矣,但内容难免经不住推敲,所以,编辑们一般用于给文章插图或压题。但是,4月17日,工人日报一版用半个版的篇幅发表了我拍摄的组照《第一只眼睛看徐虎》,打破了以前在重大典型人物报道中文字记者“包打天下”的惯例。报道见报后,中宣部领导评价:“拍得不错。”不少读者也来信、打电话对这组照片从拍摄到文字说明给予肯定。中国劳动报、人民画报、羊城晚报、上海市委宣传部等单位看了后,也分别用同篇幅转载了部分照片,有的企业还把剪报复印放大后挂进了橱窗宣传栏……
