In order to exercise control, the brain needs to integrate proprioceptive information from the physical receptors. The role of ontology in everyday activities, exercise, and physical activity has been widely used in various scientific studies. However, the mechanism of proprioception under the control of human motion is still not clear. This study focuses on the understanding of proprioceptive perception and testing methods to assess ontological sensitivities, including the determination of passive motor sensory threshold, the restoration of joint position, and the identification of the range of active motion. This article compares and discusses the origins, instrumentation, assessment processes, and protocols for these methods and suggests that appropriate assessment methods should be selected when evaluating ontological sensory mechanisms.
