This paper mainly analyzes the principle and method of the Chronicle in this volume based on Volumes I and II of Survival in Sir Cyrus. As a reader, we can easily find that Xenophon has almost always maintained the writing principle of “praising rather than derogatory.” He implemented the principle of praise and blamelessness in three ways: first, suggesting the existence of anomalies through the presence and absence of certain words; and second, using the word “allegedly” to evoke some subtle Content; third, intends to create contradictions between narrative and comment. These expressions are both Xenophon’s method of writing, but also part of their ideological content.
