在以往的设计中,常常对反向水头作用下阻止扇形闸门打开的水流作用力估计不足,因而在实际工程中,经常发生操作困难,甚至造成启闭机损坏的事故。通过百尤夫牛轭湖船闸(Bayou Boeuf Lock)扇形门的水力模型研究,证明在原型闸门上反向水头产生的阻止闸门打开的水流作用力为正向水头考虑的设计启闭力的七倍,找出了原型闸门操作经常发生故障的原因,指出为减少反向水流的作用力闸门结构的改进方向和修改措施,并为今后的设计推荐出一种新的扇形门结构型式。
