李健吾的文学批评一直被看作是中国印象主义批评的典范,他在既有传统文学积淀的基础上,广泛地吸收传统文学批评与西方文学批评的有益因素,创造性地形成了自己独具风格的文学批评体系。出于对小品散文的喜爱,李健吾的批评文体呈现出松散、自由的“随笔式”批评的文体结构,而优美放达的文字、形象生动的描述、富含情感的说理,则显示出他在语言方面的深厚造诣,同时,多重修辞手法的运用,更增添了其批评文体的艺术神韵。而这一切,就是他留给现代中国文学的宝贵遗产。
