The orthotropic mechanical sensor of piezoelectric composite material made from piezoelectricceramic and resin materials and their sensing mechanism are presented.The sensing equations of the ad-hered-and embedded-type sensing units are deduced,which are used to detect the stresses in orthotropicmaterial structures.The surface strain of the orthogonal plate is measured under the action of the planar stressfield,and the error is analyzed.
