From November 23 to November 26, 2001, the 6th Asia-Pacific Bonsai Conference and Exhibition with the theme of “New Century - Art and Nature” was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The conference is divided into bonsai, elegant stone exhibition, special lecture and on-site demonstration performances and other parts. Here are some of the bonsai pieces on display, mainly from Malaysia and Indonesia. Among them are Malaysian specialty plum, sweet pine and specialty Indonesian Hibiscus. As can be seen from these works, although the art of bonsai in Southeast Asia started relatively late, its development step by step is developing rapidly. Nowadays, it is gradually forming its own local style.
