Nuclear energy is one of the important energy sources. The use of nuclear power generation in the world’s energy composition occupy more and more important position. The construction of nuclear power plants requires strict safety and environmental conditions and must absolutely guarantee that nuclear power plants will not cause accidents that cause the release of radioactive material under various possible natural and man-made events. Therefore, in addition to requiring nuclear power station buildings and various devices to be safe and reliable and possessing thorough and adequate safety measures, it is especially required that all possible natural disasters must be fully identified and predicted when selecting a site. Among various kinds of natural disasters that can endanger the safety of nuclear power plants, there are many aspects that are directly related to engineering geology. Only a brief discussion on the regional stability in the site selection of a nuclear power plant and its site will be made in this paper.
