Shakespeare Theatrical Classics is an important source of film adaptations. The large number of films adapted from them, including a large number of animated films, make it possible for Shakespeare to re-interpret and expand audiences. Shakespeare’s images appear many times in the animated works adapted from their plays, forming a biographical narrative feature. This article takes Shakespeare’s tragedy classic “Romeo and Juliet” as an example to study the Shakespearean characters in its animation adaptation. This paper argues that some animations, while adapting Shakespearean scriptures, incorporate the real background of Shakespeare’s life and Shakespeare’s true concept Among them, the adaptation of Shakespeare animations shows a unique tendency of creation combining the true biographical and the fictional artistry.
