“以吏为师”是中国古代政治统治与道德教化乃至一切精神教化的重要命题。“以吏为师”在西周以“学在官府”的形式存在,春秋战国时期受到私学的冲击,到秦代,又被重新确定为专制制度的重要内容之一。汉朝初年虽废苛法,但“以吏为师”却被继承下来,而后逐步成为专制政治统治的有机部分。“以吏为师”在历史上为维护统治、推行礼教、传播文化发挥过一定的作用,但对道德良善和民众的道德理性,有着极为深远的破坏作用。
“Officials for the teacher ” is an important proposition of political rule and moral education and even all spiritual education in ancient China. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, “learning in the official ” form, the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States period by the impact of private schools, to the Qin Dynasty, has been re-identified as one of the important elements of the autocratic system. Although the Han dynasty ruined the law in the early years, it was inherited from “officials for the teacher” and gradually became an organic part of the authoritarian political rule. “Officials for the teacher ” played a certain role in history to maintain dominance, promote ethical education and disseminate culture. However, it had a far-reaching destructive effect on moral goodness and people’s moral rationality.
