2004年6月30日美国联邦储备委员会宣布小幅提高短期利率,将联邦基金利率即银行间隔夜拆借利率提升25个基点,上调至1.25%。这是美联储4年来首次调高利率。由于近期国际外汇市场的焦点集中在对美联储加息的预测上,市场准备实际早已基本到位,因此对此次加息政策的出台。整个金融市场反应平和,市场价格平稳过渡。但美联储加息本身对国际经济具有积极稳定的意义,必将对汇市和其它国家的经济政策产生一定影响。
June 30, 2004 The U.S. Federal Reserve announced a slight increase in short-term interest rates, raising the federal funds rate, the inter-bank overnight lending rate, by 25 basis points to 1.25%. This is the first time in four years the Federal Reserve has raised interest rates. Due to the recent focus of the international foreign exchange market on the Fed’s rate hike prediction, the market has been basically ready for the actual preparation, so the introduction of this rate hike policy. The entire financial market reacted calmly with a steady transition in market prices. However, the rate hike by the Federal Reserve itself has a positive and stable significance to the international economy and will certainly have an impact on the foreign exchange market and the economic policies of other countries.
