The ~(51)Cr release test and the effect-target binding assay were used to determine the peripheral blood NK cell activity and target binding cell number (TBC) in normal and gastric cancer patients. The effects of plasma from normal and patients on NK cell function were studied. The correlation between the activity of normal human NK cells and the number of target-bound cells was positively correlated, but there was no significant change in the number of target-bound cells in patients with decreased NK activity. There was no correlation between the two, and the patient’s plasma was normal to the normal person. Peripheral blood NK activity was significantly inhibited (P<0.05), and the inhibition rate was negatively correlated with the activity of human NK cells in gastric cancer, suggesting that the plasma of gastric cancer patients has substances that inhibit the activity of NK cells.
