John F. Kennedy, who later became one of the most successful American advertisers in 1973, graduated from high school (his only qualification). He wanted to get a job and was about to start with “professional sales.” He dreamed of having a new, good car with a company, a salary, commissions and bonuses, working on suits every day, and a business trip to travel around the world. Kennedy stumbled upon a job advertisement: a national sales manager at a publishing company would stay in town for two days just to recruit an agent responsible for bookstores, department stores and retailers in five states. Kennedy had dreamed of becoming a writer or publisher in the future, so the word “publishing” was very attractive to him. The ad went on to say that at first, the monthly salary was $ 1,600 to $ 2,000, plus commissions, bonuses, official fees and company vehicles. This is exactly what he was dreaming of.
