1959年到1979年,在中国运动员获得的42个世界冠军中,只有一个来自冬季项目。这一数字反映出中国竞技体育曾经的艰辛。1963年2月,在日本举行的速滑世锦赛上,罗致焕夺得男子1500米金牌,是中国首位速滑世界冠军。全靠顽强打拼1941年出生的罗致焕,是黑龙江铁力市人,朝鲜族,少年在铁力市年丰小学读书,13岁开始学习滑冰。1963年2月24日,时年只有21岁的罗致焕在日本长野轻井泽举行的世界速度滑冰锦标赛上勇夺男子1500米冠军,并打破了男子全能世界纪录,成为获得第一个冬季项目世界冠军的中国选手。新中国成立后,冰雪运动逐步有了雏形,国家主管部门决定以速滑为突破口,走出国门奔向世界。1956年6月,国际滑冰联合
From 1959 to 1979, out of 42 world championships won by Chinese athletes, only one came from the winter program. This figure reflects the hardships of Chinese competitive sports. In February 1963, at the World Skating Championships in Japan, Luo Zhihuan won the men’s 1,500-meter gold medal, becoming China’s first speed skating world champion. Owing to tenacious work Luo Zhihuan was born in 1941 in Heilongjiang Iron City, Korean, young people in Tieli City Year Feng primary school, began learning skating at the age of 13. On February 24, 1963, only 21-year-old Luo Zhihuan won the men’s 1500m champion at the World Speed Skating Championships in Nagano, Japan, and broke the world men’s all-round record to become the first winter project Chinese champion of the world championship.
